I'm Annemarije, an anthropologist specialized in working with audiovisual methods. I am fascinated by the way people shape their identities in connection to culture and technology, especially in terms of gender and sexuality.
Expressing research through film allows me to represent the multiplicity and messiness of the social world.

As an anthropologist I apply qualitative research methods like collaborative ethnography, participatory observation, and indepth interviews. I am skilled in concept development, writing, camera use and sound design as well as video editing.

Besides doing research and making films, I love teaching about film, ethics, camera use and editing.
